  1. Fool's mate is two moves.  A variation of it can be three.

    For example:

    1 c4 f6

    2 e4 g5

    3 Q h5#

Some guys are telling you the four move mate, aka the Scholar's Mate.  It can not be done in less than 4 moves.

  2. i can finish the game in one (knock the board off the table)...

but really, i think it has to do with the queen and a pawn i think, someone told me i just forgot...(okay this was probably useless but no worries someone asked the same question already and they got an answer) just search for their question... if no one else responds...

  3. There is a way. But it is not by three moves but four moves. And the thing is that the opponent must be a amtauer. Since it is quite known all around, the four move checkmate is not effective now.

Your first move should be the pawn in frint of the King.

Then move the Bishop to the C4 square. In other words move it 4 squares towards the north west side of the board.

Then move the Queen F3 square. Meaning that you need to  move the Queen 2 squares towards the north east side of the board.

Then your move should be the Queen. Move it F7square. That means that you should move the Queen 4 squares towards the north side of he board.

If the opponent doesn't know this move and if he hasn't moved any move to rescue the King you'll have to think of another way to checkmate him.

Hope that helped. Good Luck with the game.

  4. My boy friend, who is a chess player, showed me this way to checkmate with a knight in three moves, if the first player is very cooperative: 1. e4 Nc6 2. Ne2 Ne5 3. c4 Nd3 checkmate.

Here is another one that (says my boy friend) really happened in a tournament once.  It started 1. e4 e5 Qh5.  At this point, apparently the second player tried to make an illegal move, and the rule in tournaments was that, if you made an illegal move, the penalty was that you had to move your king.  So, the second player had to play Ke7, and the White player played 3. Qe5 checkmate!
