How to chnage my name from administrator to something else when i log on to my computer?

I had to make another administrator account and the name says administrator but i need to change it to something else and it wont let me.

HELP?!

  1. go to control panel->users and add a user, give yourself a name and password, and login under that.


  2. you need to create a new accout with administrator rights.

    Then reboot machine and log in with new name.  You can not rename the adminsitrator account to a new name.  It is not possible to change the name while logged in under that name.

    not sure where to go try this

    Right click my computer

    choose manage\

    Choose local users and groups

    choose users

    Right click ion right side to create new user

    then go in to groups and add the new user to the adminsitrator group.

    Be sure to reboot an not just log off.  It will free important files that way.

    Now if you have any items on the desktop of the administrator desktop and you would like them on the new user desktop you can copy from

    \documents and settings\administrator\desktop

    and paste to

    \documents and settings\new user name\desktop

    its that easy
