My dishes are always unorganized because none of them match. I decided that I'd buy new dishware, but what kind should I buy?

I know I need plates, bowls, forks, and spoons, but I what other basic dishware and utensils should I have?

Thanks (-:

  1. corelle is awesome stuff...  it's VERY hard to break.  i've dropped a plate on a tile floor and it was fine.  (it's not plastic) and comes in a bunch of styles...  plus, you can get coordinating accessories...  i have a matching teapot, serving tray, burner covers, and colander.  it's microwavable, dishwasher/oven safe.

it will last you decades, if you want it to.

for other kitchen stuff, i like corningware for casserole dishes, tupperware is nice because of the lifetime guarantees and the variety - i would get tupperware mixing bowls at least.  there's also some unit thing i forget the name, but they sell it at walmart...  it has stackable little storage containers with matching lids, and it all fits on one shelf in the cupboard, but...  they're very small...  not good if you have more than a few ounces to store at a time.

i also like having both plastic and steel cooking utensils, the plastic for use with my teflon pans, the steel for pots (i like the steel better, and they hang on a rack near my stove).

  2. ~~In my opinion Correlle dishware is the best for everyday use. The are light, hard to break, can go in the microwave, and look like new forever. I have had mine for years and I still love them!~~
