  1. copy of your tax return

  2. You'll need to ask your employers for some kind of receipt. You could also fill out a W-2 with your employer. Otherwise, you should pay estimated taxes. You can find out all kinds of information about estimated taxes at the IRS homepage. Other than that, I'd speak with your employer on proof of income matters and to American Express on what they would accept.

  3. Yes...the dark side of tax evasion; the inability to qualify for a loan or credit card.

  4. You really can't. If you're working your supposed to be claiming taxes. Its illegal not to though alot of people do it. Its one of the downfalls of getting paid under the table. You have no proof. Your employer could possible get in alot of trouble too.

  5. If you have been reporting it properly on a schedule C or C-EZ, as you are legally required to do, then no problem, just show them a copy of your tax return.

Or are you saying that you have illegally been evading taxes by not reporting this income?  If so, you've shot yourself in the foot as far as getting the credit card, and are also probably looking for trouble down the road when the IRS catches up to you.

  6. You have to claim any income on you federal tax return.  Show them a copy of your tax return. If you didn't file yet, go to H&R Block and file a Schedule C.  If you are getting paid and not reporting it you could be facing penalties, fees, and or jail.

  7. If you "work off the books" you are a criminal and should not be given a credit card.
