...after working only for three weeks with income of roughly £900 and not returning to the UK at least until next summer.

  1. You could try downloading form P50 from www.hmrc/p50, and sending that to tax office with form P45. Tax office may come back with queries, like asking for form P86 if you are not British.


  2. There are 2 avenues to pursue a refund of tax from the Inland Revenue.

    (1) In short, send your P45/P60/statement of earnings together with a P85/P86 and a P91 - Employment History. Send this to your local tax office and if you have not heard anything after 6/8 weeks cal them to chase up.

    (2) Another alternative is to use an agency. Agencies do charge, so be careful which ones you choose, as some charge as much as 40%.
