My family stands to make quite a bit of money doing disaster cleanup. I believe if it is over 600.00 it must be claimed. Problem is... the check will be wrote to my husband but there are quite a few people splitting the profit. One happens to be my 13 yr old. What is the best way to do this? We don't have are own business. Just tryin to make some extra money.

  1. If your husband splits the money with others, he'll have to list their names and social security numbers on his tax return to prove he didn't keep all of it. Whoever he splits it with will have to claim it as income on their returns.
