How to claim win in chess game when opponent abandons game?

You win when the time expires or they do not make a move within 10 minutes.

Answer 2

If it's a timed game, you can just wait for his time to run out, then you win on time.  

If it's an untimed game, you can wait there until someone else logs in and play or until h**l freezes over, whichever come first.

If no one logs in to play, then you can consider leaving the game yourself.

If you do, it is possible that two people will log on -- one for your opponent and one for you.  Then your alter ego may lose the game or resign and it will be charged to you!

This is one of the (many) flaws in Yahoo! chess.
