Hi...

I have a aluminum pot which had some water in but was left to boil dry. Now inside the base of the pan is blackened. Anyone know how to remove the marks ?

  1. You may have to do this several times but it does work.

Two Tablespoons per cup of hot water of cream of tartar, let sit for two hours.

You could, if you want, boil the water.

    It works quicker that way.

Don't boil water in aluminum, it discolors it.

This discoloration is a result of a chemicall change, not staining or dirt.  Bleach is ineffective in this case.

  2. Try putting boiling water and baking soda into the pot.  You can boil it while it's in the pot, or add already boiling water to it...either way.  It may work.

  3. pour cleaning bleach in it and scrub the pot
