How to clean a class ring?

Does anyone know how to safely clean a class ring? I just want to clean it up, it's not really dirty or anything, just the everyday use of the ring (you know, dead skin or whatever)........ Should I take it to a jeweler? I know there's things to clean gold and stuff but I can't use that because it's a white gold ring with that black stuff and a simulated stone.....

You can buy jewelry cleaner at places like walmart. It's this clean gel-like substance in a red tube with an attached brush. I'm sure there are more kinds. My sister uses it on her wedding ring, so I'm sure you could use it on a class ring.
