How to clean a couch?

My boyfriends parents just gave us a couch, its in great condition, no tears or anything it just needs a good cleaning, just something to "bring it back to life again" haha, so does anyone know of a good way to clean this couch? I thought about steam cleaning it, do you think that would be the best bet?

yes...have it done by professionals tho as not all materials stand up to steam cleaning

With steam cleaning, you could be left with damp spots which in turn can harbour bacteria and form mould if not properly dry. May I suggest that if you have a company called Health Protect near you, give them a call as they will be able to assist you. I have personal experience of seeing a couch cleaned where a dog has been all over it, and children being sick on it. The process was quick, safe to use products and best of all, that couch could be used five minutes later. No harm to pets or family. Couch was a few years old, came up looking really great.
