How to clean a hat? its really important that it still look fresh?

i have one them Yankees hats... and i was at school and i fell off my desk and some idiot didn't look where he was going and stepped on it so know there are dirt spot all over it and i need it cleaned. but i dont know how so please help.

In the laundry aisle at WalMart they have plastic forms you clip your hat into and put in the washing machine. The forms are white and are the exact shape of a baseball cap. Plus, it's cheap and reusable. Make sure you use the gentle cycle on your washer.

You can put it in the dishwasher and wash or you can wash in the laundry on gentle and what I do is cut off the bottom of a bleach or fabric softener bottle (as long as its round) and put the hat over the bottom of the bottle to dry. That will help it keep its shape. You might take a toothbrush and use a little detergent directly on the dirty spots.
