SOME ARE GIVING BAD INFO on here that will really mess up your project. The bad advice is to clean concrete with Muriatic Acid before applying acid stain. This will make your concrete completely unable to accept an acid stain. Acid Stains work by a chemical reaction with lime in the cement. If you apply any acid beforehand it will neutralize this reaction for your stain making your stain completely useless. Muriatic Acid is great only if your prepping to lay tile or paint concrete and must always be neutralized with baking soda before it dries.
