How to clean headlights?

The headlights on my 2000 Honda Accord are yellow and kinda cloudy. How do I restore it back to it's original clear, clean self? I've tried scrubbing the head lights like crazy but it seems like it is just stuck that way. Someone told me a while ago that there is a product to restore headlights but I forgot what it was.

  1. Try white vinegar mixed with Kosher salt (it acts as a mild abrasive).  Have you tried Windex or a similar product?

  2. car lots use a very very fine sand paper to remove the discoloration on headlights. the plastic is pretty thick and you just need to lightly sand your way though the discoloration

  3. They have headlight restoration kits you can buy and do yourself. The Dealership I work at charges $59.95 to do it for you. Or you can get rubbing compound, fine grit sandpaper and a cream type window cleaner and do it yourself. First apply the rubbing compound and rub circular motion with the sandpaper. When you are done use a paste or cream type window cleaner to clean. This sometimes takes a couple applications.

  4. crystel  view headlight restorer is what you are looking for.   20$  walmart

  5. i use a cloth buffer wheel on a cordless drill with polishing compound.

  6. Look for a product called plastx by meguiars.  it did wonders for my old 1994 accord.

  7. At Walmart, there is a product that you can supposedly put on the outside of your headlights to sucks out moisture, which is most likely the cloudyness in your lights.  It costs 20 bucks here, and I haven't tried it.  Only think I know of though.

  8. You can get some ultra fine sandpaper and then use water and wet sand the headlights till you get the yellow out or white cloudiness which ever you have once this done you going to need a compound and a light buffer to fill in the scratches after that apply some wax and you got better than before headlights. Also if you have an auto zone parts store around you they sell a headlight restoration kit made by 3M other parts stores should also sell it.
