How to clean inside of ceramics

ok i have a turtle that i made into a bowl to smoke tobacco...

the inside is not glazed (outside is) and i do not have access to a kilmn [i think thats how you spell it] i carved it and when i did dust went in there. is it safe to wash it out? or will it fall apart? is there any way i can clean the inside and is it safe for smoking out of.. any help and non negitive comments would be much appreciated

  1. Try the Dust Genie. It can get inside small spaces like your ceramics. They videos on their site so you can get a better idea of how it works. www.dustgenie.com


  2. A Kiln is the correct spelling. I personally would not use it to smoke out of. Due to the fact you don't know what chemicals were use in the ceramic to begin with . If it has glaze on the outside then it's be Fired (baked) already and should not melt, so yes you can wash it. Although the unglazed ceramic is not going to come clean once it has been stained. I hope this has helped you out ;)))

    PS. If you put glaze on the inside it will need to be fired again , but due to the staining of the inside it would not be a good idea ;(((

  3. Wipe out the inside with a damp rag. Once completely

    dry and free of dust paint a ceramic glazed on the inside.

    Just let the bowl completely dry. You don't need a kiln

    to bake it. Then just hand wash the bowl.
