  1. Sat it the other way around. Just scrape it of, The lead soon reverts back to it's original colour.

  2. so many people ask this question & what no-one ever seems to do is to clean it off when the paint is wet (this takes two minutes) it takes a lot longer once the paint has dried (as you will find out) use a putty knife as a scraper to get the thick off then finish off with wire wool

  3. Use a coarse grade of steel wool and elbow grease.

  4. It's easier to paint over it.  Bitumen paint works well - it goes matt and looks right.

(But don't get it on the masonry or you'll have a never-ending job)

  5. If you mean runoff from the lead has marked your masonry paint. Paint over it with masonry paint. Then apply patination oil to the lead (from roofing supplies merchants). This prevents staining from runoff.

  6. You can use paint remover-Nitromors or something like that. Paint it on over the paint-the masonry paint might be a little stubborn so leave it a good while and then hose it off. You might have to do it twice but it should come off. Its inert so it will not harm woodwork or brickwork
