How to clean mirrors without leaving stains on it?

napkins just make it worst. what the magic solution?

I'm not so fancy.  I use Windex, and then after drying with a paper towel, wipe quickly with a dry cleaning cloth.  This seems to work perfectly for me, and doesn't involve mixing any special solutions.

vinegar water mix and use newspaper not paper towels

I use one part vinegar one part water and either a smooth rag or newspaper. And don't worry about the vinegar smell. It goes away, I promise.

It takes me a little longer, but the results can last a while.  I first use window cleaner and a towel to remove finger prints, etc.  Then I use water spritz on with news paper.  For some reason the newspaper doesn't leave that residue behind that paper towels and cloth towels will.

I found that almost all store bought window cleaners streak. I started using hot water with a little Dawn dish detergent and using a rag works well to remove the dirt. Rinse out the cloth with plain water, re-wipe, and dry with a towel.

Try windex and if there are still streaks use water and windex mixed.  Scrub it and the use a very clean and dry rag to dry and get the fluffs off.  I am a cleaner and this is the best way.

use shaving cream and a paper towel not only does it not streak but keeps the mirror from fogging up.

Alcohol is a great cleaner but works best with a microfiber cloth.  Terry cloth leaves lint.

I work in a restaurant and we use coffee filters to polish the windows and glass surfaces.  vinegar, and water. add a little ammonia if it's greasy.
