I just pulled up my old carpet and padding and found a spot, about two feet by two feet, on the plywood floor that is moldy. It's black and grainy. How should I clean this?

  1. the new orange glo hardwood cleaner or Goo Gone. Goo Gone works best it brings up those sticky and hard to get messes.

  2. 20-bleach/80water mixture let it sit forawhile then scrape away....

  3. I would soak a towel in bleach and water andlay it on the spot.  You will probably have to rub a bit and repeat the process a few times, but it should do the trick.

  4. I found a link for you on how to take care of this problem. Good luck!

  5. Are you sure it's mould and not the backing from the carpet that's eroded and ground into the floor?

If it is mould, wipe with a cloth soaked in bleach and water - the bleach will kill the mould spores.

Make sure the windows are open to allow the flooring to fully dry out.

Don't sand the area or breathe in the spores.
