How to clean my Ping Pong Paddle

Ok I have a ping pong paddle that has inverted rubber. I was just wondering if it is ok to clean with soap, water, and a paper towel. I really don't want to buy a special sponge for it, I just don't want to have my ping pong paddle lose grip, if anyone could help me that would be great.

be gentle. let the paddle dry naturally before you use it
