I've been watching my friend's Irish Wolfhound while he is away on military duty. I was told that his dog was 100% housetrained. But, since he's been here, I don't think he's urinated outside ONCE! I lef the door to my walk-in-closet open and he went inside and lifted his lef on ALL of my pants, skirts, and dresses! Not only that, but he's gotten on our bed AND couch and urianted all over it. This dog is neutered, and both my dogs are spayed and neutered. Why is he doing this? But, more importantly...how do I get pet urine out of clothing, bedding, and upholstery? I really appreciate any tips.

  1. I am sure this poor guy feels like his world has shattered with his owner gone.  To remove the stains dab them with vinegar and then launder them.  Then put the item out in the sun for a day.

I would establish regular times for the dog to go out and pee.  If he does not pee put him in a kennel and try taking him out again in about a half hour .  If he does praise him lots and leave him out of the kennel.  He should learn the routine in couple of days.

  2. Try soaking the stuff in water that has laundry soap in it. then when it's done for like an hour, get some clean water with only like a spoon full of bleach and mix it in the water along with some laundry soap. Then keep putting the clothes in it and taking them out and ringing them out. repeat those steps and it will work. If it doesn't then that can't be urine.

    Good luck! (:

  3. wash everything with some bleach.. don't use anything with ammonia..their pee has ammonia in it and this may be why he keeps peeing on the same spots..

try and keep him in one room like the bath where he can't pee everywhere.. ask the owner what the dogs' pee schedule was and try to keep to it..

he may also be marking his territory since this isn't his house..

maybe the owner didn't exactly tell the truth either...

    good luck..
