How to clean some ancient copper coins ........

its 1200BC coins made of copper and its covered in some green stuff with only some parts of copper exposed ....... how can i clean this and expose the copper ...... without damaging the coin?

  1. Place the coins in vinegar or soda for a while.


  2. take it to a museum and have them help.

    don't attempt to clean it yourself, you may damage it and ruin its value (historical and monetary)

  4. PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS WEBSITE BEFORE CLEANING THE COINS!!!!! Depending on the coin it may not be wise for you to have them cleaned. Some coins are worth more preserved in their natural state.   5. With the use of tamarind and water--rub the tamarind properly and wash it  with water, repeat the cleaning process.

  6. this might sound crazy, but place it in a cup of coka cola.  first, however, try it with a penny (also made of copper) and see if you like the results.
