I have a client that has water that has dripped down their refrig. ( stainless steel) from the ice/water maker, leaving like a lime deposit.....also others with prints. Now I have tried stainless steel cleaners ( sprays and wipes ), windex, vinegar, muti purpose cleaners, I buff, I use strong elbow grease........I am at a loss as to how to clean these things so they look good........any ideas????

  1. Barkeepers Friend is an abrasive cleaner it can and will scratch surfaces.  I would try using WD40 to clean it. Just spray your rag and wipe with the grain.  Don't get me wrong I love Bar Keeper's Friend.

  2. I work at sears and we use stainless steel cleaner to clean our appliances. It smells like citrus. The important things are to go in the same direction, PUT THE CLEANER ON THE PAPER TOWEL OR RAG FIRST, and clean the entire surface. Use a dry paper towel after your finished and it should work just fine. We sell the stuff I think it's like $ 6 or 7.  Barkeepers friend works great on copper bottom pots I've never tried it on stainless steel.

  3. I just bought a product from soaps gone buy that is called "barkeepers friend" and it says on the package that it is ideal for cleaning stainless steel appliances.  I haven't tried it yet because the vinegar and water is working for me.  It's a powdered cleanser, yet it claims to be gentle enough for the SS.
