How to clean the slim out of a vinyl pool?

i have the metal fram pool 10*30 size i would like to know what can i use to clean the slim on the sides and bottom of the pool ?And what is good to take out the grass from the bottom ?We also were told to leave the filter runing about 12 hrs out of the day i that true or no and all so on my filter there is a blue circle that inside the pool but is use for the filter do you put the tablet there so the water stays clean

They have shock at walmart, put it in the pool. It comes in a small bag, use the whole bag. if you can brush the sides and bottom of the pool. you can get a pool vacuum to clean the grass from the bottom or you can stir it up and skim it out with the skimmer. I keep my filter running all the time. Helps alot. and leave the blue thing alone. You can buy a tablet dispenser for the chorine tablets.
