How can I click multiple continuous pics in a single go (like 10-20 pics in continuity on a single click) with Canon Powershot S5IS, to select the best in the later phase.

  1. from one review...

    "Continuous drive mode

The S5 IS has two continuous shooting modes (continuous and continuous-AF), both of which allow you to shoot pretty much indefinitely (we gave up counting after about 70 shots) with a fast card. The difference (as the name suggests) is that the continuous-AF mode refocuses between each shot, which slows the rate down to under one frame per second (or longer if the camera struggles to focus)."

Have a look in the Index of your Advanced User Guide...look for 'Continuous Shooting'. Hint...page 46.

1.5fps with a fast card (Sandisk Extreme III), is about the best you can do.

  2. Do you mean continuous drive?  This lets you take multiple pictures as long as you hold down the button.  There should be a setting somewhere that says "Drive Mode."  You set it to "Continuous" (it should look like several boxes overlaid on top of each other) and then shoot away.  It's possible that you can only use continuous drive in certain shooting modes, but I haven't used an S3/S5 in a while, so I can't say for sure.

The S5 IS can take 1.5 pictures per second.

  3. The button for drive mode is on top of the camera between the shutter button and the power switch.  Press it once, and you will get a choice of settings across the top of the screen.  You can choose the drive mode setting you want or the timer setting you want.  Drive mode and the timer are controlled by the same button.  Do note that Drive mode doesn't work in some shooting settings like Auto.

  4. the manual will tell you step by step.

press the function button and you will find it.

  5. The Camera Can Go ON:

    High Continuous

    And Continuous

If you want to take alot of pictures at once, you should go with the high one, but if you don't need to shoot as much, go with the standard continuous mode.
