My friend just broke up with her boyfriend and I just wanted to know how you comforted a friend going thru this or how you've been comforted. I sent her an email with the song Count On Me and spoke to her on the phone for hours. We're planning a girls night out, any other ideas?

  1. is that the song that goes "Count on me through thick and thin

A friendship that will never end

When you are weak, I will be strong

    Helping you to carry on

Call on me, I will be there

    Don't be afraid

Please believe me when I say

    Count on...." blah blahhhh

anyways, i know people will often say take her out and take her mind off it but let her have a night or more to mourn first otherwise when you take her out to browse for boys it will just remind her of how good her boyfriend is and how much she misses him.

thats what i find anyways, but after her first few nights take her out, have a couple of drinks, go out on a girls night in the town and dance and THEN browse guys =D

  2. go to the mall and scope out guys flirt with ppl @ work/skool have fun with her do somin that will take her mind off her ex-boyfriend just help her thru the time she is proly stil shocked it just depends onhow long they were goin out!!!

  3. Have a sleep over order take out. Watch movies. The song was very sweet of you. She maybe taking it hard so cope with her.  Maybe just for laughs in a few days you can give her the song he wasn't man enough for me.   Give her a big hug.

  4. girls night out is a good idea...purely girl time..no boys..well if there are HOT NEW BOYS don't pass up!

talk to her..create a distraction for her to keep her busy.. make sure she doesn't forget how pretty she is and how strong she is.

Listen to her-- just listen..if she wants to talk about him or about how she feels.. Don't but in every 2 or 3 words with "he's such a jerk" or "you're better off without him" -- just listen and nod and smile and hold her hand...answer only when she asks you a question... that way she gets everything off her chest

don't push her to open up if she feels miserable..just be there for her and let her know that you're there to support her... i don't know if she's the type(like me) who would rather go through the whole phase alone until she recovers and bounces back

do fun things -- go to the beach...hang out in a mall..go to a place with a lot of people, that way she'll get to have her mind off him..

do a photoshoot..like ANTM style..then frame it or make a scrapbook..make sure she looks good..heheh that way she'll have a reminder that she needs to be happy and move on to better things

    buy her a pet..a puppy..or something..hehehe

just be there for her..that's the best you can do.

  5. take her out shopping!

u can buy many great things and pick up a few boys numbers!

that will get her mind off of his!

and tell him he wasnt worth it anyways!
