My dog ran away for a few hours, and is not limping. A 2 year old pit bull. How do I comfort him to show him he's loved?

  1. well first i would suggest taking him to a vet to make sure he is okay.

then after the vet as assessed his potential injuries and you can take him home....find a nice quiet out of the way spot where he can lay in comfort. on a blanket or pillow.

dogs like anything that is "den like". so if it's in a closet or under a desk that isn't used often or in the corner of the living room away from traffic that would be best.

it's best to leave him be while he is resting and when he's up talk in a low voice, and gentle pet him.

  2. Doggie ER right away!

  3. The best way to show love is by using common sense and getting to a vet! Then ensure he cannot escape again and make sure he is tagged and chipped just incase. Is he neutered? If not he should be by law and he may have caught whiff of a female in season so went to get his rocks off! By far the best way of communicating with him and any dog is using body language and Canine Calming Signals so less talk =more comminucation.

  4. This is confusing.  How is he injured?   If he's injured, has a wound of some kind, it needs to be taken care of by a vet.

    add:

Ok, that makes more sense than saying he's NOT limping. He needs to go to the vet right away.

  5. What is wrong with you?  Get off the interenet and get him to a vet ASAP!  It could be diabetes!

  6. He may have been hit by a car.

    I would be seeing a vet .

  7. Pet him and give him a lot of attention. Tell him he's a good boy, give him treats, all of that good stuff. And don't let him walk to much, you don't want to inger his his leg more!

  8. Well a good thing would to be to take him to the vet?

  9. Take him to the vet!
