when you're in port you can use your cellphone as long as it's somewhere you'll have service (check before you leave)

you can use your cellphone on board but it will cost you a lot of money! you can pay to use the internet by the minute, or buy a package of a certain amount of minutes at a lower rate. it's not super cheap so i wouldn't surf the web for hours, but it's affordable enough for a few e-mails

I just returned.   A cell phone will work on the ship in some areas, and in the ports where they stop every day in almost all ports.    The ship could help you with emergency calls.    E-mail is available on the ship for a fee.
