How to commute going to the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros?

Question

I'll be coming from NLEX. The starting points would be either the Monumento area, North EDSA, Sta. Cruz, Manila or Divisoria (any LRT or MRT station could also be the starting point).

I'm looking for a route that would involve buses, jeepneys and/or walking=) Renting a cab would be the last option unless, if that would be the cheaper alternative.

There are actually many options for you:

From Monumento, take the LRT, get-off at Doroteo Jose station then take a jeepney with the signboard Sta. Cruz/Pier. That route will pass by the Manila Cathedral/Fort Santiago.

or from the Monumento LRT station, you can take the Sta. Cruz/Pier jeepney at once. This option will take a longer time, but you won't have to transfer vehicles.

You can also take the EDSA route (by bus or the colorum vans), get off at the Quezon Ave., and from there you can take Quiapo/Pier jeepneys.

.....you can ride LRT station from monumento and get down to Sta. Cruz station then ride a jeep with a sign going to Pasay Baclaran via Mabini route (dont ride Taft ave sign), then stop on what they called round table area where you'll see Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and DOLE. From there, walk inside intramuros wall go straight pass PLM and DOLE and you'll find Manila Cathedral on your left side so you have to turn left when you saw it or just ask any bystanders there to show you the exact location of Manila Cathedral. If you're already inside Intramuros you'll not be lost anymore just ask anybody there. Its only a small exercise for your legs......good luck...

If you will take the LRT from Monumento, you can get down at the Central Station. You can walk from the Station to Lawton, right in front of the Post Office (right side if you are facing the Post Office. There are jeeps coming from Quiapo going to Pier. Manila Cathedral is just 5 to 10 minutes away without traffic.
