How to completly remove a .rar thing.?

Question

well i installed winrar onto my computer and now i don't want it cause i never use it so i uninstalled it and now when ever i right click on a file or folder it should up saying convert to .rar, and 2 other things and i want those gone. how do i do it?

i am using windows vista. yeah i know it sucks and i want it gone i just dont have money. i have searched in my control panel but i dont think i have searched good enough. can some one please help me?

if you absolutely cannot remove it when you tried everything else, you may have to kill its entry in the registry

Usually you can delete the options from the C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\SendTo directory, however WinRAR you cannot. Check out the article below, they have a guide to using a software product to get rid o WinRAR and others.

Simple. Get the free version of WINRAR. i know you don't like it but if you need the features.

Reinstall Winrar on your computer, and uninstall it properly from Change or Remove programs from the control panel. your problem is that probably you didn't uninstall it properly the first time.

Rickclick on the folder and go to properties, sniff around in there.

Go to cnet.com and try downloading a shredder or some other program removal application.

If this fails to remove the software, reinstall WinRar and then remove it using this tool. Hope this works.

Try downloading this little program called ShellExView.  http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.ht...

It will allow you to see and edit the context menus (meaning, everything you see when you right click) for your system.  You can remove things you do not want on the right click menu that way.

just install another compressing software like winzip

and associate the .rar & .zip and other with the new software

it should work with u

i believe u have to go into the registry and delete some stuff but u can download ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/  its free) which cleans up c**p files left over after u uninstall programs as well as a lot of other junk

so it might fix ur problem cuz u dont' wanna accidently delete something u need from ur registry
