  2. Go see an orange juice bottle.

  3. Nonspecific question - assume you mean to learn, since you placed this under special education.  Setting - where you are comfortable, traditionally a tale or desk and plain chair, plus silence.  Many can't study without music.  I learned while doing student teaching that I learn best amidst multiple activities with permission to focus.  I studied at my neighbor's kitchen table while her tv and radio were on, the teens and little guys and family dog were going at least two directions at full volume.  The family was trained:  if Mama has a book open, LEAVE HER ALONE.  Perfect study setting - you knew instantly if a problem occurred, the tone of the noise became focused.  That cancelling-out of competing sounds is called "white noise" in sound technology and can also include just a steady nonspecific sound, like "snow" on a tv set.  (It's the same principle as a person pounding their head due to a headache, distraction - the pounding is far from the best solution, but one pain distracts the attention from another.)

So - to concentrate has a degree of individual variation.  Do a little field testing to find your own best choices, what works for you.  A few good pillows (or large stuffed animals to use as pillows) can be helpful, a supply of water or other beverege, maybe carrot sticks or some other snack.  (I also have noted that certain music for certain things is effective for me.  I only listen to classical cool jazz when cleaning - but when I do, stay out of my way, or you might get scrubbed!)

One key element turned out to be the most helpful suggestion in the learning program "How to get an A" - take regular, very short breaks.  (Like, stand up, stretch, walk to the light switch and back, each 10 minutes.  Twenty minutes of break and 2 of study doesn't work.)

    Get adequate, peaceful sleep.

Breathe fresh air.  (Open a window to air the room.)

Hydrate.  Drink water, splash some on your wrists and face.

Eat regular healthy meals, healthy snacks.

Be aware of light, sound, physical comfort.

    Take very short, regular breaks.

Arrange for minimal intrusions by others (no permission to interrupt).
