  1. buy a router, this is usually the setting out of the box...

i would advise buying a router, 1. they are so cheap, 2. better off not misconfiguring the settings, 3. keeping this unnecessary load off of a PC

  2. Routers or switches with DHCP capabilities will do this without further configuration.  You don't need to buy additional software.

Just set it and forget it..

Keep in mind that the assigned IP address is internal.

  3. Routers generally have built-in DHCP servers, and, being the entry point to the Internet anyway,  are the logical place for them.  Check your router for this capability.  Configuring them is generally not more complicated than turning them on.

    Hope that helps.

  4. You could buy a router and configure this to lease the addresses the way you want. However, if you need to set advanced settings for the addresses it provides (like NTP server, or Multiple Gateways), I recommend using the Microsoft DHCP server. This server is only available in Windows Server 2003 (small business/standard/enterprise)

  5. The Best And Cheapest way is to use ICS internet Connection sharing,Just make a dialup connection on your 1 system (Server) and make it share.

For all PC on network Configure as Automatic Assign IP.

All system will have IP without usage on any DHCP Server or any ROUTER
