How to connect Aux to TV?

I have an LG 2.1 Mini Home Theatre. I guess you could call it 2.2 because each speaker has a subwoofer lol. Anyway, im not very experienced with home theatre but this could give me much needed experience.....My question is....

How do i connect it to my TV and have it work via Aux? I have Audio/Video cables (you know, the Red, White, and Yellow ones), and on the back of the dvd under Aux it only has inputs for the Red and White, but not the Yellow cable. Anyway, I tried hooking the DVD up to the TV without connecting the Yellow cable on each side, but i get no sound on Aux....hope that isnt confusing.

So why is this? Do i need to buy a cable with only Red and White, or am i connecting it wrong? Thanx for the help.

  1. IDK FOR SURE BUT YOU WOULD WANT TO HOOK UP THE DVD FROM ITS OUTPUTS NOT ITS INPUTS

  2. The home theater allows you to connect one more source (say a TV) to it as AUX, so you can listen to that source using your home theater speakers.

Connect Audio output (red/white) from the TV to the AUX red/white audio inputs and you are all set. Then switch the input to AUX, turn on the TV and you should be able to listen to the TV via your speakers.
