How to connect Thunderbird to homail?

im using latest thunderbird and os is mac 10.4.11. i remember one time i did this using some plugins. but cant remember. can anybody help???

  1. Currently hotmail does NOT support smtp client (which Thunderbird and all similar programs are) connections on a standard account. They need you to subscribe to a higher level user account which verifies the user details for security. They charge for this.
