  1. My sound system ,Grundig, came complete with all the cables necessary for 5.1 connection.

  2. That speaker system is intended for computer use. Watch your DVD in your computer instead.

  3. Your speakers have 6 channel analog (3 mini-stereo inputs) meant for plugging into a 6 channel (5.1) computer sound card. Your DVD player does not have 5.1 analog output (which would have allowed three stereo RCA to stereo mini plug cables to be used). It only offers analog stereo, or optical (digital) outputs.

So the only possibility of getting discrete surround sound would be to find some form of optical or coax digital to 6 channel analog converter ... which I don't think is made, and even if it is, because it would have to provide digital to analog conversion, would be more expensive (several hundred $) than would be warranted for $100 speakers.

The only other options I can see are

    - to use the stereo out from the DVD and connect it to the stereo front (and maybe bridge to the surrounds) and accept stereo sound, or

    - if you have a computer DVD drive ... use it to drive a surround audio card and plug in the speakers to that, or

    - buy new speakers and an amplifier/receiver.

Basically what you have doesn't really allow you to do what you want in any economically feasible way.

    Sorry.
