I have a PS3 and HD cable box connected via HDMI to a Sony Bravia LCD TV. I also have a Bose Lifestyle system which doesn't contain HDMI inputs but does have one optical digital audio input. Can I run an optical digital cable from my Sony LCD TV via its digital audio output to my Bose system and hear 5.1 surround sound from both the PS3 and HD Cable? If so, would any brand of optical digital audio cable work? Thanks for any help.

  1. Yes. If the jacks fit, and the cable is the right type, it will work.
