How to connect a mac book to the internet wirelessly

Ok im thinking about buying a macbook and i need help. do you really need that airport base station or with the built in airport card that the mac has can it get the signal of my router i have at home? can i just search for my routers signal and type in my pasword and wep key and connect to the internet like that or do i really need to buy the base station to connect to the internet please help!!!!!!

  1. Most computers, especially new ones have them already built in. Yout computer will automatically connect to the best connection that is unsecure unless you have a network password.


  2. MacBook comes with built-in wireless capabilities that let you do everything you need to do, anywhere you need to do it. Wi-Fi networks show up right on your desktop. Just click and connect, and you can surf the web, send email, video chat, and more..

    It's compatible with most of the normal routers, you don't need to buy a speicif router for mac.

  3. i hav a mac and i dont hav that and i can connect to my router wirelessly  just by searching for a wireless source then picking my router then typing in my WEP code thing. so yeah as long as the mac has wireless compatability

  4. U don't need the base station. The built in card can read other router signals & connect to it. Its nothing different than a regular laptop, only easier!!
