My car radio has output 4x45w. I have four speakers at present (2 in the front and 2 in the back) and I want to put a sub woofer. Is it possible to connect it without disconnecting my current 4 speakers and can it be connected without amplifiers. I haven't the woofer yet, but i am going to buy one. I only know that the woofer max power is 400w. Please answer fast.... Tnx.

  1. yes you can connect a subwoofer into your car without disconnecting your inside speakers. But you would need an amplifier for the sub.  Your radio does not have enough power to push the sub. You could burn out your radio if you connect the subwoofer directly to to it. So if you palnning to buy a subwoofer than i recomend you get an amplifier too.

  2. in order for your subwoofer to work you need an amp. otherwise the subwoofer will just sound like shiite. sorry

  3. U DONT NEED TO DICONNECT THE SPEAKERS,U SHOULD HAVE A PREOUT ON UR RADIO,U JUST PLUG UR RCA'S INTO IT,BUT U WILL NEED A AMP IF YOU WANT TO HEAR IT,U CAN BUY A SUB WITH A BUILT IN AMP,OR AMP AND SUB SEPERATE,GO TO CRUTCHFIELD.COM AND SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO OFFER WITH A AMP BUILT IN ,GET AT LEAST A TEN INCH SUB,ALSO KEEP IN MIND A BAZOOKA TUBE WITH  A BUILT IN AMP IS A GOOD THING TO LOOK INTO.
