How to connect the wireless modem to my old PC?

I already have a desktop PC connected to wireless modem which is up and working. Now i want to connect my old desktop PC to connect to the wireless router. I know that i can connect them using a new wireless adapter. But I don't want to do that as the 2 desktop PC sit pretty close to each other. So i want to know that whether i can plug the ethernet cable from my LAN card to the free ethernet port in the router, and also if its possible should i use a straight cable or crossover cable?. (Ethernet cable/RJ45 right?)

  1. Yes you can. All you need is an ethernet cable. It will be the same hook up as the desktop you all ready have hooked up.

  2. It is possible that you can connect that computer through an ethernet cable but i suggest that you use the straight enet cable.

Just plug in the other end of the cable at the allocated enet port at the back of your router.

    Hope this helps

  3. Yes just plug right into a LAN port with a straight thru cable.

  4. Connect LAN card of your desktop PC to the "free" ethernet port on your router using a straightforward cable.

  5. Just plug it in, and use a straight cable
