  1. SEND NEWS MEDIAS( STATIONS & CHANNELS A NOTE.

REQUEST THAT THEY REVIEW NEWSWORTHY INFO FROM YOU. SEND SOMETHING CATCHY AND UNIQUE.

  2. First, make sure she and her family members are legal residents of the USA, because if you publicize her story and she or her family members aren't, she could be deported.

Next, have someone with better English skills help you write a press release.  The focus of the press release would be something like:

"Local School Groups Rally For Class Mate In Need

"(insertcityhere): Students at insertschoolnamehere are working to raise funds for a fellow student caring for two younger siblings and looking for a permanent place to live. Money will be used for their food and rent until the student graduates and is able to find a job."

List more details about the situation, why you are helping, and where others who want to help can send donations.

Email or fax this to all local television, all local radio and all local newspapers. Also talk to the community of faith the girl or her aunt are a part of (if any).

Forget national media like Oprah -- your friend's story, while sad, is not at all unique. And it's very unlikely that the local media will pick up the story, but you can try.

  3. Call a local radio station or television station. If they feel it is newsworthy they will get involved.
