How to connect to wireless internet connection...?

I currently have a Netgear router for my computer and i have my laptop connected to the internet wirelessly. On my Nintendo DS i tried using the Wi-fi and it didn't work. I went to nintendo.com for help and they told me that you need to setup or connect the router to the DS so you will have access to the router therefore, Wi-fi through the DS. I never learned how to set that up though and i might be getting a wii soon so i would like to know how to set it up so i can connect my wii to the internet. It has something to do with the router i just want it to connect to the wii. it connects fine to the laptop but i dont know if there was any setup involved. if anyone knows how to do this or has a clue what im talking about please answer!!! thanks...

use the cable first to steup your routerr you  plug the cable to ur laptpp and log in to the router ip

well if it works on your laptop then try clicking on your router on your computer and click on properties...your IP address should come up...note it down for later use.

if you cant connect the ds to the router by wi-fi then try getting a cable for your ds that connects to the router (sold seperately)  

if all else fails contact your internet provider or alternatively when you bye your wii it will include in the manual with all the neccessary needs to set up the internet connection for your wii...i hope i helped =D
