How to control a Media Center from away?

I got a long HDMI cable and hooked up my PC to the HDTV but now the problem lies on how to control my PC which is in the next room.

There are some Media Center remote controls but they are Infra-red.

So is there some other way like an RF or Bluetooth remote control or even a good ranged mouse? Or anything as long as it does the trick.

There are IR extenders that will do what you want-see the link for some of them. In case you aren't aware, there are MCE extenders that will let you feed your TV via ethernet. The most used is the xbox360.
