i always have these weird and bad thoughts about everything. not necessarily "pessimistic" but its so super weird! like i would imagine pushing my mom into traffic, or throwing my baby cousins down a waterfall. not like i would want to do these things but i just think about it and stuff. and its so weird and inappropiate. i would think about s*x with the person i'm next to male or female. its so weird! i hate having these thoughts!

HELP?

  1. hahaha OCD?

  2. You just think about things the same way most of us do, although your examples are a little extreme. If you don't act on them, then they are harmless. We all do it.

  3. You must believe that you are capable of doing anything you truly try to do. Truth is if you think you can you will do a lot better than if you think you can't. Be confident and you will be amazed at the outcome. As far as your thought of intercourse for everyone you sit next to is not as extreme as you might think, depending on how far you let your imagination to control reality; ironic as it seems, if think your a pervert you will be a pervert or if you think you like to have s*x, then its not so negative.

  4. LOL, I often have the same thoughts as well, and have taken to asking several people about these "latent" thoughts we have. Mostly, I find them to be predominately male figures, so I have dubbed those "feelings"/"ideas" to be profoundly testosterone driven...hormonal, if you will.

I often will have feelings, when I'm doing dishes or, more like "flashes" into an alternate reality that when I'm drying a knife or something that I stab my entire family or, when I'm driving to ram into a phone pole or run someone off the road (not road rage though), or even at a supermarket, to go on a murder/criminal rampage with the people in front of me and the clerk.

s*x too, I have visions about having s*x with random people while sitting in my office, or maybe while even engaging in a conversation with the person at that time...doesn't matter the age, or how good/bad looking they are...it just "flashes" in my head, I've actually started to just chuckle at them when they occure, but they do occur often, just to put your mind at ease...if not daily, often several times a day.

As far as controlling them, I haven't really tried to control them, because I've found them to be primarily stemming from the deep self-conscious. Some maybe scary, but I also try to relate to "day dreaming" if you will...no matter how deviant, erotic or horrific...I just started rolling with them, since I can never predict their occurance.

    Good luck,

  5. haha dude! i get that same exact thing. just like you start thinking about (like you said) you mom or some family member dead and of course you would never want that to happen but you already thought it and you keep on thinking it. idk i guess it's pretty hard to explain, or when i was little and i used to pray i would pray for insane things like pray that i die tomorrow or all the people around me get aids, but you don't do it on purpose.. lol i used to have to think "ah wait ignore everything i'm thinking right now cause i can't control it" to end the prayer so none of it actually happened.

lol and now it just happens when i'm trying to fall asleep or whatever...but the thing that i found that stops it is to listen to music, and actually think about everything they're saying in the lyrics.

  6. Perhaps it could be your unconscious mind telling you something like with your mother. it could be if shes upsetting you in anyway ,or your cousin maybe you think one of these days she/he may drown. and with the whole s*x thing i didnt want to say this but maybe it could be your unconscious mind telling you  that you may be unsure of your sexuality.

Hope this helps good luck =)

  7. i think to a large extent these types of thoughts are normal. i am not a professional, but i think they occur to remind us that we are good-while we have the power and oppurtunity to easily carryout evil acts we do not.

if you have them a lot, that could be a symptom of something else and you should see a therapist.

  8. Try meditating for five minutes. Not that dumb **** religious ppl do, just in the morning or at night, cross your legs sit up straight and concentrate on your breathing. it may be uncomfortable the first few times but you will get used to it.

  9. You sound like you need to release your negative energy, seems like you have a lot.  Try some Reiki.

  10. These "weird" thoughts are perfectly normal.  They do reveal a certain amount of anxiety, and shyness that you're not proud of, but should not trouble you unduly.

Real mental illness always contains the aspect of compulsion to act on one's impulses -- often coupled with righteous justification.  Your unease with such fantasy is an indicator of at least an average level of mental health, and probably better.

Recognize these ideas as what they are -- like a bully yelling an insult at you from a passing car.  Look them in the face, try not to lose your temper, and share your thoughts with someone you trust.  You'll see that doing this, coupled with gratuitous acts of charity and taking a few harmless risks in relationships will improve your self-esteem.  Easy does it.
