How to control weeds in my thyme?

Question

What is the best method to control the weeds? There is just too much to just weed. I would have to pull every single day for at least 3 hours....seriously. it's a big area too like maybe 10x40 feet?

thanks for suggestions. I was going to put fabric down but dont know if that's the best solution anymore. I got suggestion of newspapers but I'm not going to put any mulch so can't look at newspapers until the thyme fuses.

I know you wont like this answer, but hand pulling is your best bet.  Any chemical is going to harm the Thyme and weed block fabric is going to keep the Thyme from growing in and becoming the ground-cover it's meant to be.

Thyme will hold back some weeds but it'll never keep out everything (especially those obnoxious wispy blades of grass).  It's a case of "if it sounds too good to be true...!  If anyone tells you ground-covers will stop weeds from growing, you know they're not your friend.  Seriously, if it was that easy, no-one in the world would have weeds.

My dad used to use this stuff to help you control weeds but i think it is called Weed Controller or something like that. it worked but after a while he qiut using it cuz he enjoys doing stuff in his garden
