  1. I am confused. You say that you are converting 4:3 to 16:9, but there are VERTICAL black lines in the video. Then you are saying that you are converting full screen to widescreen and there is shadowboxing (the black lines). That is impossible.

    If you meant horizontal black lines on the top and bottom, if you play 16:9 (widescreen) format video on a 4:3 (your standard full screen) tv you will always get shadowboxing.  And if it's the other way around, if you play 4:3 (full screen) format video on a 16:9 (widescreen) tv, you will get shadowboxing, but they will be vertical black lines on the sides. So there's not a lot you can do. Sorry.
