How to convert VHS to DVD?

I was looking online and trying to buy a converter for my VHS onto DVD's and all the stuff they describe confuses the mess out of me! So what are some good brands and stuff to look for when buying one and do they work good?

  1. Don't forget VHS is inferior to DVD. So quality will be lost. Good Luck.


  2. If you only have a limited amount of material to transfer from VHS to DVD, try looking around for a local service that can do this. Or use a national service. It will save you a lot of grief and you won't have to buy another expensive gadget that will have no use once you copy all the tapes.

    Try going to local.google.com, and search for "video to DVD transfer services" in your zip code.


  3. You need to buy a DVD+VHS recorder. Those devices will allow you to convert DVD's to VHS, and convert VHS to DVD. The GoVideo VR4940 is an example.

  4. That shouldnt be confusing.

    Here's something plain and simple.

    I bought my VCR/DVD RECORDER at COSTCO

    And what it does is that you can watch a VCR/DVD movie OR you can copy a VCR movie into a DVD movie (with a push of a button [that's how mine works])

    they still sell them at best buy and circuit city and here are some pretty good ones...
