  1. To be able to type "123" and have the data taken as 1.23, used "fixed decimal places".

In older excel versions, go to:

    > Tools > Options > Tab: Edit > Choose: "fixed decimal"

    In 2007, go to:

    > Home > Excel Options > Advanced > Choose "Automatically insert a decimal point"

  2. I don't think there is a way to automatically insert decimal points if you don't type them in as such.

You can set the cell format to maintain a certain number of decimal places: (Format>Number). But those decimal places will be whatever you type them to be, and if you don't specify them, they will be zeros.

Edit: Zeromile has a good suggestion.

  3. I use microsoft excel 2007 and the process is different for older versions of excel. first select the whole worksheet by clicking a cell and pressing CTRL+A and then

Click the Home tab then look for the "Number" toolbar on that bar you should see this         .0     and  .00

<- .00             .0-> which stand for decrease and increase decimal click either one the number of times for the number of decimals you would want your cells to have.simple.

for older versions of excel just locate the "Format Cell" option in any version of excel then click the "Number" tab and then click "Number" under the category after you do, at the right increase or decrease the number of decimal places as you wish and click "Okay". done

to do the division by 100 select the whole worksheet by pressing CTRL+A then locate the "Format Cell" option then click the "Number" tab and then click "Fraction" under the categories and then at the right click "As Hundreths" and click okay.  so if you type 600/100 and press enter 6 would appear instead of 600/100. simple. this works for any version of excel.

  4. Have you tried the help line ?

  5. If you want to change the 123456 to 1234.56, you could divide it by 100 and so on..
