Okay, my mom always is trying to get me to drive a car but I suck at it, so I started to ride my god-fathers bike and for me it was easy and WAY funner than driving a car.

I told my mom and she was freakin out. I know its because she cares about me and just doesn't want me to get hurt. But how can I get her to let me go for my biking license instead of my drivers?

  1. Well you can't ride a bike in the iwnter unless you live dwn south or out west, so you may as well get your driver's license.  You're gonna need that for life anyway.  If you're under 18 you can't.  If you're over 18, take the MSF course in your area.

  2. Gas Prices!!

I agree with the previous answer about safety courses and always wear plenty of protective gear.

Always remember, riding a bike is all about defensive driving and always expect the other drivers around you to do the stupid thing you might suspect they would do.

  3. Take some safety courses. Good marks from there ought to help ease her stress a bit.

Also in most states you can hold both licences, and on your drivers, they'll just put an M or something like that, and often it's referred to as a motorcycle "Endorsement".

I would go ahead and get both, because come winter, your gonna want to have a heater, and also driving a cycle on ice is an accident BEGGING to happen. You'll really want the safety and enclosed cabin of a car should the weather ever turn on you.

I myself am trying to buy a moped.
