How to convince my dad to let me get a monroe piercing.?

he isn't very strict, but i don't think he'd be gung hoe about me getting a hole in my face...

i turn 17 in february, so i really don't want to wait another year and a half to turn 18 to get one..

any suggestions?

Lol I dont know.  My parents weren't really strict either but said I couldn't get any piercings, well I just went ahead and did it, they didn't care after I had already done it.

guess what?  You'll probably never get him to agree to let you do it.  

Your best bet is to wait until you're 18.  If anything, it'll give you more time to think about it.  

Many people think that piercings are something you can take out when you're tired of them, leaving no trace of it.  Not true.  You will likely have a scar there for the rest of your life.  Do you really want to scar your face?  

If you're getting the monroe for vanity reasons, think more long-term.  If it's vanity that's driving you, it should be vanity telling you not to get it.

Just find a way to do it without his consent. Slowly but surely he will realize you're growing older and he can't dictate everything in your life.

So, why not just take a chance?
