  1. say its something that you really want to do and you'll stick at it

hope this helps and have fun playing rugby

  2. Easy, just tell him its a gentlemans game, and its also the game they play in heaven!

  3. I dont understand why your father would hold you back when he should be the one encouraging you especially with an awesome game like rugby.

Do it with or without his permission.

  4. Tell him that after you die playing rugby you won't be a liability to him anymore and he will enjoy the rest of his life. LOL!

  5. You need to find out why he doesnt want you to play.

Talk to him and listen to his concerns.

You might want to try and get him interested in Rugby if he isnt allready. The more he may learn about the game the more he may be willing to let you play.

You shouldnt be defiant and play any way.

I would recommend seeing if you both can come to an agreement on the subject.

If your dad has questions that you cant answer and there is a rugby coach that is willing to talk to your dad then that is a good rout to go as well.

    Good Luck.

  6. Dude, you’re 6’ 8” knock your dad out; he will understand 2 or 3 days later.

  7. how old are you?

  8. Tell your father that you're as likely to be injured playing soccer! The earlier he lets you start training, the better your body will adapt to the sport, and the less the likelihood of injury.  Rugby's in your blood, anyway, so as soon as you groq up a bit and he loosenes his grip on you, you'll find your way to a rugby pitch, anyway.

You need something to make you feel alive, and nothing makes you feel alive like a couple of tackles on a lawn of wet, fresh grass and earth.

  9. Your 6ft 8? You could make one fantastic Rugby player!

First of all why doesnt he want you playing it? If he uses the "contact" excuse explain to him that your 6ft 8! You will be the biggest man on the field! Nobody will want to tackle you! Anyway football sucks ;|

  10. Sit him down and ASk him why he doesn't want you to play! Until you know his objection, you have absolutely no chance of overcoming it.

If he stone wals you with 'you are not playing and that's that'! Then you are on a sticky wicket, but the last thing to do is be defiant and play anyhow.

I would go along the lines of telling him that in your heart you really want to try to play the game, the last thing you want is to go through life wondering if you could have been good at it. I would tell him that you respect him and his decisions, but playing rugby is something that is very important to you and you REALLY want to play the game with his blessing and encouragement..

  11. Soccer players usually make really good rugby players.  So you'll probably be an asset to your team.  Tell your father about scholarships.  If you plan to go to college or university, getting a rugby scholarship is a great way to try and convince him.  He'll have to pay less money for school!

  12. tell ur dad that rugby  is coool
