  1. wow, this is a hard one. I have had horses all my life but when i wanted to get another one it took a lot of convincing with my parents. It took me over a year but just keep pushing them! Talk about it ALL THE TIME! Don't let them for get about it! Start looking for horses online. Every horse you find that you like SHOW THEM! They will get annoyed but eventually they will realize that the only way you will stop is if they get you a horse.

    Hope this helps!!

  2. d m: my words exactly

Show responsibility, be able to pay the board, often times it's not the initial cost of the horse but the board that hurts. Get your coach to talk to your mom, make her see that you need your own to progress your riding, if this is the case, if you just want a horse, then wait until one is a necessity.

  3. Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of Solitaire. It is a grand passion.

    ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Make sure you know exactly what you are getting into when you buy a horse...I would suggest taking lessons, leasing or co-boarding a horse before you commit to buying one (PS DONT Flip out and tell us that you have had lessons etc. etc. because you didnt exactly elaborate in the question....)

  4. tell her all the positive stuff of having a horse and tell her you will take care of the horse

  5. do what i did.

show her you know how to take care of one

    pay for ALL tack

and drop annoying hints and dont let it go  until they talk about it. i have an advantage.. i have acerage at my house and we're building a barn

  6. Put together a finance sheet of what everything will cost monthly. then show her how responsible you are... and get a job to be able to support your horse!!

Good Luck, I hope ya can convince her!! :)

  7. Get a job

  8. Have you had any riding lessons? Do you know how to take care of a horse? Do you have time for one? Who is going to be paying for the horse? I am assuming that your mom is. Can your mom even afford it? What are your mom's reasons for not wanting you to have a horse? Try to find out, maybe then you can work something out.

  9. Can you give us some more info to go by? Have you ever takin lessons, have you ever had any experiance with horses other than lessons? What about it does your mom not like? For my family we just can't afford one. Maybe thats your moms problem. idk If i knew more than id be able to give you some more help.
