How to convince my mom to get me contacts?

im 13 and my mom thinks im wayy to young for contacts,

i hate wearing glasses all the time.

My mom recently got surgery for her eyes so she can see better.I really like makeup but i have to cover my eyes with glasses.

Please how do i convice her to let me get contacts?

Optometrists say that anyone under 12 is too young to manage them and your eyes kinda stop growing then. my mum was the same, i had to wait till i was 13. When you are at the optometrist ask if you can try a pair because you are considering wearing them. When your mom sees how pleased you are with them she might turn around. Offer to pay part for them or arrange something financially. You have to be careful when you wear makeup with contacts. Once i blinked when putting mascara on and i got huge black lines across my contacts. It was so painful and I had to chuck them out. You could play the healthier, cheaper and better for your vision card.Good luck with it tho. Hope she turns around.

i had the same problem.

and i'm 13 also.

so i wrote up all these reasons, told them it, and they finally said yes.

here were some of my reasons:

-you lose your peripheral vision with glasses, because you are actually looking past the edges of the glasses

-Contacts are better for any sports or physical activity [like P.E and sports

-Contacts do not break as easily as glasses either

-make vision more natural and they don't fog

-glasses can cause permanent dark indentations on the sides of your nose

-during rain, glasses would easily become wet, but contacts wouldn’t

-with contacts I could wear sunglasses, which protect the eye from UV rays

-Contacts are very easily replaceable, you lose a pair, no problem

and moreee.

you should reason w/ your parents, and research all you can. also, maybe take your parents w/ you to the optometrist and he can explain everything about contacts.

oh, and girls younger then 11 wear contacts.

try getting a simple on the side job and start saving your money.

then tell her if you pay half will she get them for you?

try showing her how responsible you are by cleaning your room, wearing your glasses all the time (thats what i did, it worked!) and just being good, no talking back!

I had contacts since i'm 12. You can convince your mom by telling her that you will observe hygenic & tell her how you feel about having specs.

i think you are old enough to get contacts you should tell your mom why you want contacts and how much you would love to have them because maybe if you a really good reason and are nice and not to pushy she might give in even if you have money offer to pay half or full price for them you never know she might say yes

Wow.Let me just say I have had glasses since I was about 7 and I am your age.My dad is taking me to WalMart tomorrow to get an eye appointment for contacts.I am so excited!I can't wear makeup either because my glasses just cover it up.Gettng contacts gives you more confidence to look at boys and them not thinking you're ugly.You also don't get called ''four eyes''.I think 13 is just the right age to get contacts.After years of glasses I can't wait to take my glasses off and enjoy the feeling of not having glasses.Tell your mom that as teenagers we want to feel confident and have high self esteem for boys and school and everything.There are so many girls with low self esteem.Anyways tell your mom that contacts usually come in a 3 month supply and another amount of months higher than 3.I forgot what the other one was.Tell your mom that unfortunately school is starting in a few months and you want to go back to school with a new look.Maybe even a new haircut!Anyways tell your mom those things!The way I convinced my dad to take me in to the WalMart Vision Center was I told him that the glasses would slip down my nose and when I put my head down they would just swing in the air.I also told him that I've had glasses since I was 6 or 7.That was 6 or 7 years ago.!WalMart gives you a trial pair of contacts.The 3 month supply starts at $40.Anyways I hope I helped!I hope you get contacts!Bye!

I am 13 and wear contacts, I hated glasses, so I agree with you. Just tell your Mom you will be careful with the contacts, follow all of the rules, and tell her you would really apprectiate them.

Get a job as a babysitter or something and buy your own.
